Give me some Law and Order
I just have to do it. My favorite TV show, Law and Order:SVU.
Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson solve crimes as part of the NYC Special Victims Unit. They do an amazing job and a lot of it comes from the Actors who play them. Mariska Hargity and Christopher Meloni get so into their part that there is not a question of the emotions that go on. Not only do they solve rap cases and other cases, but you see a lot into the personal life of a police officer.
Everytime I watch this I hope that they will get together and become a couple, but yet it has not happened. The chemistry you see every episode is amazing and not to mention the episodes where they had to pretend they were together.
I have watched every episode ever made (thanks Netflix and TIVO) and enjoy every one. No two episodes are the same. Watching some of the story lines, it makes me happy that I have been kept safe and free of harm. If anything happened I would want these two detectives protecting me.
The show is genius in its writing. You can see the legal research done, as it follows all of the law that is true. Not once have I found a fault, and each time I ask Al a question it is verified.
The actors get you so involved for the hour that I forget I am watching a TV show and not a documentary. They find such great guest stars which helps.
I recommend this show to everyone!!

Perfect
The definition from dictionary.com for the word perfect is :conforming absolutely to the description or definition of an ideal type. Another definition they give is entirely without any flaws, defects, or shortcomings.
Take a minute and think about everyone in your life who you know. Whether they are family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers... Do any of them fit either or any other definitions of perfect down to the last word? Most people will say no. They don't know any one who is perfect by "dictionary" standards. And those who do say they have a friend who fits that, what makes them perfect? Who is to say they are perfect, who is dictionary.com and any one else to say that the person has no flaws or defects. Any body can conform to being something they are not, but then does that make them perfect? Even if it is not who they really are?
When I was in High School a girl who was perfect always had their hair done, make up done, and even though we wore uniforms and everyone dressed alike, she still had a style about her that seemed different. For a guy, there was no definition. The pressure to be perfect fell more onto girls due to acceptance by other girls. That was just my school. When you were sitting in your cafeteria, did you notice any "pretty" girls sitting with the so called "ugly" girls? Most likely not. Because the "pretty" girls were perfect as they would think and the "ugly" girls were not.
People strive to become that perfect person and by doing so they loose sight of themselves. They forget what is real and what is fake and who their friends are. They ditch true friends who would have their back no matter what and hang out with people who when you really need them
are not there. To me perfect people are not perfect. I mean prime example: Christina Agulara and the National Anthem at the super bowl. She is deemed perfect by a lot of people, has money, nice house, good paying job, and she forgets the words to the song and all of the sudden everyone is all on her like she is the worst person in the world. Granted I laughed, I stopped to think about how she felt. She probably felt 10 times worse then I ever would have due to the standard she lives up too. That just goes to show that no one is perfect to a tee. But its how you handle yourself that makes the difference.
I am not perfect, my hair tends to be a mess, my make up is never right, I tend to wear sweats. But to other people, just by being me or you being yourself you are perfect in their eyes. If people in this world stop living up to standards they will never meet and just take a step back there may be less suicides for teenagers who think they are overweight when they are not, or from being bullied for not being perfect. The world is not perfect so why should one person be. Who sets the definition of perfect? The media? because if they are, they are doing one terrible job.

This song is called ****ing Perfect by Pink. When I first heard it I was almost brought too tears. It goes into the fact that no one is perfect, and when you are down and think there is no hope, you are still perfect to someone. No one should feel like they are "less than perfect" To someone in this world you are perfect. At times in your life it may feel like you are not. Especially for kids who are in the foster care system or whose parents just don't care. But there is always one person who cares even if it is your teacher.
This song helped me also realize, that I don't have to be perfect. I have my faults, major ones, but as long as I am living and have a roof over my head then my life is perfect. There are people who have nothing and don't ask for anything. Its amazing how powerful a song can be, but when you take a step back and look at what the true message is, to someone if not more you are perfect.
This song is dedicated to all the people who feel that they are not perfect and struggle with life day to day. No one should have to resort to harming or killing themselves because they don't fit it. There is help out there.

Bring it on Mother Nature
So I know this is New England and its the winter. It is supposed to be cold, supposed to snow, and snow days are bound to happen. But honestly at this point, it needs to stop. I am sick of snow days, I am sick of this white stuff and need some green in my life before I go insane, and most of all, I am sick of this stuff ruining my plans. This snow storm on Thursday better not be anything major because I am supposed to go to see Al this weekend after a month and if I can't due to the snow then thats it...with mother nature (but I do have an amazing dad who said if it is bad, he may drive me up Friday night, couldn't ask for a better dad...no dad I am not sucking up, just saying it like it is, many other people would just say forget it and not even try)
But on a positive note this got me listening to the song that we call ours. In five days, it will be 2 years for us not "together wise" but since we started hanging out and talking and such. The first night, when UConn was playing Syracuse in Basketball, we were sitting in his car and he was showing me the map of where his law school was and how far it was. It was snowing/raining a tad and cold. The car was the only dry warm place where we didn't have to leave to go somewhere else. As we were talking about things, a song came on the radio.
The Fray came out with a song called you found me. As it played we stopped talking and just listened. The lyrics could not have described the situation any better than I could. Around that time, I was struggling in school and was keeping to myself. I was insecure about myself, not sure if anyone was ever going to be interested in me, or if I was just wishing too hard. "In the end everyone ends up alone" is one of the lyrics in the song and before meeting Al that is how I felt. Somehow, the job that I am at, has a positive side, which is meeting Al. (And Tami!!!)
This is the song, with the video. After the song stopped, we kept talking and about an hour later, it came on again. At that point I thought it was a "sign". "Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me, lying on the floor, surrounding, surrounding, why'd you have to wait, where were you where were you?" That is basically what I kept asking him over the next few days. Where were you earlier, when I didn't think everything was going to be ok. Throughout the days we would always here the song, and every time I heard it it would bring butterflies to my stomach. Even now, being so far away, yet so close but still 2 hours, every time the song is on, he calls me or tells me he heard it and I do the same. It has become our song and I can never stop listening.
I have a tendency to connect songs to my life. Most songs that I love have to do with an aspect of my life that has happened or has currently happened. I have my sad songs, my upbeat songs, my take that songs. I don't even know where to put this song, except for on repeat when I get to a point where I just need to space out. Al found me, and I found him. Besides my family and friends, he keeps me going. There are plenty of songs that remind me of him and that we hear together on a regular basis, but none of them stick out like this song. Everything about it speaks about when we met and the timing.
The moral that I learned with this whole thing is, when you stop looking and start wondering is there really a guy out there for you, there is. When you are not looking he will pop out of nowhere and turn your life upside down in a good way. It actually made me happy while writing this blog, to be able to stick to the topics I wanted to write about, while adding a personal touch. Lets hope Mother Nature is wrong and holds off just a few more days!

And so it begins
This blog is a way for me to bring lots of positivity into my life. A way for me to express things that I like and things that I like doing and then being able to express thoughts, opinions, and questions on them. I hope that this becomes successful in a way where it works and I can look back on it in later years.
Right now one of the things I like doing in my spare time (not a lot but enough) is watch stuff off of Netflix and read books.
Currently I am hooked on prison break. I know I am like four years late on this but better late than never is the saying. I have always wanted to watch this show, but never got the opportunity when it was currently running due to scheduling and school. Well I am two seasons into it exactly and am loving everything I have seen and watched. Although I have to say, my favorite part has to be Wentworth Miller who plays Michael Scofield.
He is my new celebrity crush. Someone who I will never be able to meet in person, or date but that is ok. I am perfectly happy with and would not change a thing. But that doesn't mean I can't have a celebrity crush! Everyone always asks me who is my favorite celebrity and I never really have a concrete answer. Until now that is.
He is so much fun to watch due to the fact that he gets into his character. The way he plays the brother figure, the way he cares and is admit about what he wants and when he wants. The producers picked the perfect person to portray Michael Scofield. I have tried to picture a lot of other actors in this position and just do not think it would work. Wenthworth is just top notch.
Prison Break on the other hand is an amazing show. I am almost done with the last episode and see so many reasons where they could have ended the show on a good note, Michael and Sarah together and be done with it. Everyone lives happily ever after. But that is a tv show and we all know that is not going to happen. So on that note, I am going to watch season 3 and see what that has in store for me :)
And that is it for. Input would be great!! Too long, short, just right, interesting, not interesting! Anything
